Group Creative Services was selected to be Palm Springs Int’l Airport’s (PSP) art curator and art program consultant.
The airport has a unique design history and serves as a cultural gateway to the entire Coachella Valley.
The History
The primary airport building was designed famed architect Donald Wexler and stands as an iconic example of mid-century modern architecture. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places and acts as stunning gateway to Palm Springs, often considered to be a mecca for mid-century modernim.
The Future
As the airport activates a new plan for terminal expansion and other improvements, Group will develop and enhance PSP’s art program in alignment with its mission to provide a unique and welcoming atmosphere reflective of the region’s artistic heritage, cultural diversity, and aesthetic appeal.
The Work
This project includes services such as:
Developing and implementing an airport art plan
Managing PSP’s existing art collection
Commissioning new works
Facilitating exhibitions
Supporting artistic efforts and temporary activations to improve overall traveler experience
