Iowa City, IA: The Greatest Small City for the Arts

Group was awarded the contract to assess the feasibility of forming an Arts Alliance in and around Iowa City, IA.

The study plan included interviews, focus groups, surveys, and the convening of a 20-member steering committee.

The study identified shared goals, values, and potential needs. Then utilized a series of creative strategies to investigate possibilities for organizational resilience, governing structures, geographic engagement, financial implications, and programatic opportunities among other elements related to building and a sustaining a thriving arts ecosystem in a community that is known for “punching above their weight” when it comes to art and culture.
