Mason City Willow Creek Riverwalk
The Opportunity:
Design and install public art engaging visitors at Willow Creek in downtown Mason City, the cultural and retail hub of north central Iowa.
HYBYCOZO’s Harmony in Light installation got a ribbon cutting in June 2025. The installation delivers an immersive space created by two sound waves made of laser cut cylinders inspired by cymatics, composed in a layout resembling a pipe organ.
Goals for the Willow Creek Riverwalk project include:
Enhancing pedestrian pathways and amenities.
Connecting people visually to Willow Creek and acknowledging the waterway.
Creating a sense of place, a destination which enforces Mason City’s brand.
Including an iconic gateway element into downtown which can be experienced by vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
