Glass Eggs in the Wild

Group Creative Services worked with Water Works Foundation to spur interest in the park’s wild areas. Des Moines is fortunate to feature nearly 1500 acres of heavily wooded, mostly undeveloped park land available for public use. Hunting for blown glass eggs gives visitors a reason to adventure off the recreational trails. Artist Jesse Bogenrief hand made 500 glass eggs in his studio at Mainframe in Des Moines where he makes hand blown glass objects of art and function, and offers hands-on glass blowing workshops. The eggs were hidden throughout the entire park. Some are still out there….

Listen to the artist, Jesse Bogenrief, and Water Works Board president, Zac Voss, discuss the project on WHO radio.
